Chris Dragan

Strategic Advisor

Chris is an experienced CFO, entrepreneur and management professional with extensive experience in the ownership and management of established private businesses. He brings this experience to Promerita to provide strategic oversight of enterprise debt and/or equity investments and special projects.

Chris has been an owner and President of a multi-divisional business in the wholesale flooring industry with North America-wide distribution. Chris has extensive mergers and acquisitions experience and has personally led the successful financial and operational integration of businesses in M&A and scale-up scenarios, leading to a successful exit. In addition to assisting various businesses on a consulting basis with strategic and operational change, Chris has also served as the CFO of a midsized real estate developer and for a wholesale business executing a transformation and restructuring.

Chris has directly lived the ups and downs that life as a private business owner has to offer, having experienced asset liquidations and creditor settlements, turnaround situations, and synergistic combination and growth initiatives. He has at times been an owner, a president, a CFO, and an external advisor. His experience in the private enterprise space also includes exposure to the unique complexities of family businesses and partnerships.

Chris is a CPA, CA, having earned his designation while working with KPMG in Vancouver in its financial institutions and real estate practice group. His public practice experience included a spell in the Cayman Islands, focused on hedge funds and alternate investment vehicles. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Simon Fraser University, specializing in Accounting and Human Resource Management. Chris has maintained ties to SFU over the years, forming an undergraduate advisory council to keep the program connected to the business community.

Away from the office, Chris enjoys spending time with his wife and two boys. He is an active member at a local golf club, a runner, and a late-blooming travel addict.
