David is a management consultant and brings a diverse professional background spanning finance, technology, accounting, marketing, and operations management to his role as a strategic advisor and member of Promerita’s capital group. David also has a successful background as entrepreneur, having built several start-up companies of his own, most notably a significant financial software company that had operations in Canada, the US, Europe and Asia adopt and deploy its product. David’s experience includes being a partner in an international management consulting firm where his business management strategies were instrumental in decreasing business risk for entrepreneurs and increasing returns for investors.

Early in David’s career, he served as a Senior Manager in a large multinational bank. There he worked on projects that were deployed across 85 countries, giving him unique exposure to cost leadership opportunities provided by international outsourcing. As a result, he has established strong connections in international markets.

Most recently, David’s engagement with Canada’s Federal Government is helping to address the country’s productivity gap through the Digital Technology Adoption Program. Working with IRAP Management Advisory Service, David plays a key role in identifying and starting new ventures that will move the national innovation agenda, and provides him access and insight to a significant pipeline of business opportunities.

David’s extensive business experience is complemented by his education, professional affiliations and his role as a business educator. David earned a science degree and a MBA degree from the University of Toronto and is the author of three published business books; he is also a certified professional member and instructor trainer for the Canadian Association of Management Consultants, and holds the CMC designation. Furthermore, he is a designated Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CMA) and a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). In addition to his professional education and qualifications, David is a member of several corporate boards and is a volunteer executive mentor for the Innovation Factory and New Ventures BC.
