Ian’s career spans more than 30 years of senior leadership roles with both privately-held and publicly-traded companies incorporating over USD$2 billion in hospitality and commercial real estate transaction and operational experience throughout North America.

A sought-after corporate board director, Ian holds a variety of corporate board positions, including being a member of Audit, Investment, Governance, and Finance committees. As an executive, he has been the President and CEO of both large publicly-traded and privately held corporations and entrepreneurial businesses, operating across the spectrum from full-service luxury and boutique hotels to independent and branded select service hotel properties.

As a musician, Ian has performed on international stages with world-class musicians across many genres, including classical, rock, jazz, bluegrass, and traditional.

Ian is a graduate of the ICD-Rotman Directors Education Program and is a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors, is a current director of Northern Vision Development LP, the Musical Stage Company, and Arts District, and is a former director of the Hilton Hampton Inn Owners Advisory Council and the Hotel Association of Canada. He holds certificates from the Royal Conservatory of Music in Piano, Violin, and Theory as well as a graduate degree in business.
