Rizwan brings a significant background in business leadership, real estate, finance and the seniors living and care industry to Promerita. Prior to joining our group, Rizwan served as the CFO for one of Canada’s largest full continuum seniors care businesses, where over a thirteen year tenure, he led the growth of that organization from a four facility family business to one of the country’s largest privately owned portfolios with over thirty sites from British Columbia to Ontario.  Prior to his role in the seniors care and real estate sector, Rizwan articled at Ernst & Young where he was quickly promoted to management upon receiving his Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA) designation and subsequently managed a group of real estate investment and development funds, including some of the largest real estate investment portfolios in Canada.

Rizwan’s business experience is accompanied by significant education and training. He holds a business degree from Simon Fraser University and received his Chartered Accountant designation in 2001. Rizwan has also been honoured by the Institute of Chartered Accountants with an Early Achievement Award for his professional accomplishments.

In addition to his numerous professional successes, Rizwan has a passion for serving the broader community. As a member of an immigrant family and having seen significant community service modelled by his parents throughout his life, Rizwan was inspired to give back to the community at a young age, and in the 1990s, he helped to found a youth centre for Muslim children. Rizwan also serves on the Board of the BC Care Providers Association, the industry association representing the non-government seniors’ care sector in British Columbia in residential care, assisted living, home care and home support.  Rizwan was born and raised in Vancouver and is married with two young children.
