Victor de Bonis

Strategic Advisor

Victor de Bonis is presently the Chief Operating Officer of Seattle Hockey Partners responsible for the development activities of the newly awarded Seattle National Hockey League (“NHL”) franchise, which is set to play its inaugural season in 2021-22 at a new multi-purpose Arena facility currently being constructed at Seattle Center, a 74 acre arts, education, tourism and entertainment centre adjacent to downtown Seattle. He has over two decades of North American executive experience in the professional sports and entertainment industry. He most recently served as the Chief Operating Officer and Alternate Governor of the NHL for the Vancouver Canucks from 2009 to 2017. Victor brings to his role as Strategic Advisor at Promerita a passion for leadership and for overcoming complex issues relating to both financial and human capital in order to achieve extraordinary results.


Victor is an alumnus of the Sauder School of Business at UBC, where he earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting. Prior to working in the professional sports and entertainment industry, Victor articled at KPMG Vancouver where he worked in audit and forensic departments for a range of industries in BC. Victor earned his designation as a professional accountant (CPA, CA) and was honoured by his peers as a Fellow member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of BC (FCPA, FCA).


Victor has a passion for the community where he is a sought after speaker for business strategy and is engaged in inspiring young professionals and mentoring youth at risk. Victor and his wife Mary now live in Seattle and have three adult children. Victor is an avid runner, traveler, food enthusiast and enjoys the challenges of hiking the West Coast Trail.
